Privacy policy
Effective October 29, 2026
PhoShare collects no data and sends nothing anywhere. This policy explains what the app keeps on your phone and the two ways something can leave it.
What the app stores
Everything you create in PhoShare is stored in the app's private storage on your device:
- accounts: usernames, bios, join dates and avatars;
- passwords and security answers, only as PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 hashes with a random salt, never in plain text;
- the photos you post, with their captions, comments and favorites.
Every account on a device can see every post on that device.
What the app collects
Nothing. PhoShare has no server, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting. It doesn't request the internet permission, so Android doesn't let it connect to the network. The developer never receives any of your data.
Permissions
None. Photos come from the system photo picker or your camera app, which hand over only the photo you choose and don't require a permission.
How data can leave your phone
- Sharing. When you tap share, Android's share sheet sends that photo to the app you pick. From there, that app's own privacy policy applies.
- Android backup. If device backup is turned on in your phone's settings, Android may include PhoShare's data in the backup it stores in your Google account. The developer has no access to it. You can turn backup off in your phone's settings.
Deleting your data
Deleting an account from its profile deletes everything it posted. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app deletes all of PhoShare's data from the device.
Children
PhoShare isn't directed at children under 13, and it collects no personal information from anyone.
